LIN-CREST FARM TORNADO FUND

Date: June 1, 2019
Location: online

Description

Early Tuesday evening, May 28th, a large tornado struck Lin-Crest Farms. Linwood, Kansas, owned by Rob & Lisa Leach and Rob's sister Chris Hahn and her husband Brian. The families are fine, but the tornado did extensive damage to the farm and animals. The estimated one mile wide, F4 tornado touched down near Lawrence, Kansas and stayed on the ground for several miles. All barns on the farm were a complete loss and Rob & Lisa's house has damage, but is repairable. Chris and Brian's house was destroyed. 14 animals were lost with a few others having injuries and milk cows and heifers have been sent to other dairies in the area.
Lin-Crest Farm has been home to numerous All-American quality Holsteins and Jerseys for decades and some of the Jerseys lost in the tornado were of that quality.
