Hardware Handed out at Ayrshire and Brown Swiss Convention Awards Banquet

Adults took the spotlight at the 2014 Annual Awards Banquet at the National Ayrshire and Brown Swiss Convention held in Peoria, Illinois.

 

The Brown Swiss Association kicked off the evening with the recognition of their Brown Swiss Historical Society Awards.

 

The Active Master Breeder Award went to an honoree who has spent his entire lifetime on the same farm, Larry Kruse of Earlville, Iowa.

 

The Historical Master Breeder Award was presented to Leon W. Button, Vine Valley Farm,  Rushville, New York. The family was present to accept the award.

 

Darrell Wardin of Forest Lawn Farm in Wisconsin was honored with the Distinguished Service Award for his tireless efforts in supporting the Brown Swiss Association.

The Ayrshire Breeders Association took the podium and presented their awards.

 

The Master Breeder Award went to Greg Bordchardt of Family Af-Ayr Farm.

 

The Young Leader Award was given to Donna Mertz of Bear Ayr Farm.  (Purebred Publishing Photo)

A fun auction was held to raise money for the youth of each breed.

 

Indiana Jones, Abe Lincoln and The Duke, aka Norm Magnussen, Steve McDonald and Darrell Wardin along with several other cast members entertained the crowd while holding the auction.
