A beautiful late October day greeted Illinois Holstein breeders as they gathered for their Illinois Golden Opportunity Sale held in Altamont, IL at the Effingham County Fairgrounds. Scott Courtney was on hand to sell the sale, which boasted an unofficial average of $3,550, while Larry Kleiner took care of the announcements and updates for the day.
Topping the sale was Lot 14 at $10,100, a consignment from Golden Oaks Farm of Wauconda. Golden Oaks Atwood Shae is an EX 91 Junior 3 Year Old, entered in NAILE. She was fresh in April and bred back to Armani in June and is carrying an ultrasound female. Shae is out of an EX 91 Jeeves, and goes back to the Snow-N Denises Dellia EX 95 family. She was the purchase of Todd Reeverts, with Wilson Martin being contender.
