Illinois PDCA Calf Sale Report
The Illinois PDCA Calf sale was held Saturday, April 9th in Urbana, Illinois at he Champaign County Fairgrounds. With Bernie Heisner handling the pedigrees and Larry Kleiner auctioneering, the sale boasted a $2,180 average on 25 Holsteins, $2050 on two Ayrshires, $1365 on three Brown Swiss and $950 on two Jerseys with a total average of $2018 on 32 calves.
The top selling Holsteins included $6,700 for an October O Kalif-Red calf from Luck-E Advent Kandie-Red EX-95, consigned by Matt Engel. The second high seller was $4500 for a summer yearling Atwood from an EX-91 Jasper from the Elegance family, consigned by Ludwig Farms and $3,150 for an October Sid 7 generations of EX dams back to Jan-Com Fond Matt Matilda, consigned by Bob Miller.
