Sheeknoll Durham Arrow Passes

Sheeknoll Durham Arrow, the Grand Champion Holstein from 2016 WDE has passed. She was bred and owned by Sheeknoll Farms in Rochester, MN. Affectionately known as 'Thomas" her win at World Dairy Expo stole the hearts of breeders from coast to coast when with one tap breeders realized a breeder's herd could still compete on the colored shavings. Here are comments from the Sheeknoll Farms Facebook page

Yesterday was a sad day at Sheeknoll as we said goodbye to our beloved cow, Thomas. Her tenacious attitude fought hard in the last moments as she battled a short illness resulting in renal failure. We are so thankful for the memories, friends, pride and joy she gave us. We will miss her spunky attitude and sparkling eyes greeting us each day as we worked our daily chores. We have been truly blessed! Thank you, Thomas.

Our condolences to the family.

I will never forget the moment when that class of mature cows ,all household names. I was up in the announcer's area visiting with Tom Morris as we admired the class. It was like looking down into a box of diamonds. I was looking down on the ring there was one cow that I did not recognize. As the judge made his first selection, he pointed to this little known cow and Tom Morris jumped up and said "he's going with the Minnesota cow!" I will never forget that moment. Great time!
