Class III milk futures at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange closed mostly lower ahead of a bearish milk production report Monday.
August milk closed a penny higher at $15.02. September milk down 12 cents at $15.69. October and November both closing down a penny at $16.01. December through next July contracts closed four cents lower to four cents higher.
Blocks closed down $0.0450 at $1.61. Two trades were made ranging from $1.6075 to $1.61.
Barrels were down $0.0275 at $1.6425 but had a very active session. Twenty-two trades were made ranging from $1.6450 to $1.67.
Butter closed down $0.0550 at $2.25. One trade was made at that price.
Nonfat dry milk closed up $0.0050 at $0.8675. Five trades were made ranging from $0.675 to $0.87.
Dry whey was up $0.0025 at $0.4475.
