Bronx Students Refuel with Chocolate Milk and the Yankees

As part of American Dairy Association North East's Refuel with Chocolate Milk sponsorship with the New York Yankees, 80 youth from the Bronx participated in the team's summer baseball camps. Yankee Hall of Fame player Mariano Rivera joined the campers to promote healthy eating, especially the role low-fat chocolate milk plays in the body's ability to recover after training.

With the increasing rate of childhood obesity, ADA North East and the Yankees partner to sponsor several summer camps to reach youth with milk's important nutrition info.

In addition, Yankees Manager Aaron Boone recorded a PSA about the Summer Meals program in New York City and provided a signed Yankees jersey offered in a drawing for those who shared the Facebook post with the PSA. ADA North East also offered other Yankees prizes for those who attended Summer Meals events during August.

ADA North East is the dairy farmer-funded organization funded by participating dairy farmer's checkoff investment to build demand and sales for milk and dairy foods throughout the local region. Representing nearly 11,000 dairy farm families in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and northern Virginia, ADA North East develops and implements local programs to drive milk and dairy sales at retail outlets and in schools.
