The Dairy Calf and Heifer Association's next webinar program
will focus on Electrolyte Therapy in Calves. This one-hour educational offering
will be held on April 16, starting at 1 p.m.
Geof Smith, a professor of ruminant nutrition in the
department of population health and pathobiology at North Carolina State
University, will address calf diarrhea treatment, neonatal calf dehydration,
metabolic acidosis, depression scores, electrolyte abnormalities and negative
energy balance during this webinar.
Smith will explain calf diarrhea goals rehydration,
replenish electrolytes, correct acid-base abnormalities and provide nutritional
support.
