The American Dairy Association (ADA) Mideast leveraged National Farmers Day
this week to debut new videos and promote educational materials about how dairy
foods are responsibility produced. New videos include A Virtual Dairy Farm Tour
which provides a behind the scenes tour of Cold Run Jerseys with Ohio dairy
farmer Tara Herron and Modern Technology: Focusing on Cow Comfort which shares
how farmers use modern technology to provide excellent care for their cows and
calves.
To maximize the use of these videos, ADA Mideast created corresponding
educational curriculum, which aligns to core standards for grades 5-8, as part
of our efforts to build trust for dairy among youth. The curriculum includes a
teacher guide and resources for either virtual or in-person learning and
student worksheets on dairy sustainability, cow care, milk safety and
technology.

ADA Mideast represents Ohio and West Virginia's dairy farm families, who work
hard to care for their cows and land so they can nourish our communities with
fresh, safe and nutritious dairy foods. As an affiliate of the National Dairy
Council, it is dedicated to fostering healthy people, healthy communities and a
healthy planet now and for future generations. ADA Mideast is governed by a
dairy farmer board of directors, and its staff includes registered dietitians,
school wellness professionals and communications experts.
