Australian Milk Production Forecast Higher in 2021

The U.S. Foreign Ag Service is calling for slight gains in Australian milk production to continue into 2021 with drought-breaking rains behind improving pasture and crop conditions.

The FAS office says production there is forecast up two percent to 9.4 million metric tons and a greater expansion for cheese production and exports is expected.

Domestic consumption of fluid milk is expected to remain stable.  USDA says COVID disruptions have been minor to Australian demand as food service declines have been offset by increased retail sales.
