My goal was to exit the dairy industry when I turned 65 and that is in 2021. I have milked cows from the time I was able to put milkers on in my families old tie stall barn where we milked 40 head. I have milked 250 head for many years in a 12 on a side parlor. My kids aren't interested and I don't blame them, both have good jobs with benefits and that is where they should stay. The dairy industry has been good to me and my family, I did what I loved doing, but everything ends.

I consider exiting the dairy industry every year. But, as I do every year, I always look to the future with optimism.
