If you are near a Culver's restaurant on Thursday, you may
want to stop in for a quick treat. That's because each location will be giving
away a single scoop of frozen custard in exchange for a $1 donation to the FFA
tomorrow, while supplies last.
Guests will have the option of choosing vanilla or chocolate frozen custard or
the Mooey Gooey Twist Flavor of the Day. Proceeds raised from the event will
benefit local or state FFA chapters or other agricultural organizations
selected by each restaurant.
"Supporting organizations like FFA during the pandemic has been a priority
for us, because fundraising has been more difficult for students in the last
year," said Alison Wedig, Culver's marketing specialist and former
Wisconsin FFA president. "Our guests will help ensure a sustainable food
supply today and in the future with their donations."
The first Scoops of Thanks day was held in 2015 as part of the Culver's 'Thank
You Farmers' program, an initiative that recognizes all farmers for their hard
work and dedication in growing and producing the wholesome food that feeds our
nation. To date, the program has raised over $3 million dollars in support of
the National FFA Organization and Foundation, local FFA chapters and a variety
of local agricultural organizations.
