Milk futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange closed lower
at midweek as did most cash markets while grains found strength.
September Class III milk down a penny at $16.58. October
down 12 cents at $17.15. November five cents lower at $17.06. December down
eight cents at $17.40. January through March contracts four cents lower to four
cents higher.
Dry whey unchanged at $0.5250.
Blocks down $0.0050 at $1.7950. Three trades were made from
$1.7750 to $1.7950.
Barrels up $0.0050 at $1.4925. Five sales were made from
$1.4925 to $1.50.
Butter unchanged at $1.8275. Seven sales were made at $1.82
and $1.8275.
Nonfat dry milk down $0.0025 at $1.33. One sale was made at
that price.
