University of Wisconsin - Madison Squeezes Out Win at Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo Intercollegiate Dairy Judging Contest

FORT WORTH, TEXASThe University of Wisconsin - Madison bested a field of 10 teams from across the nation to take the win at the 2023 Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo Intercollegiate Dairy Judging Contest January 15.

 

For the second year in a row, the Badgers took the win with an accumulated 1,950 total points over California Polytechnic State University, San Louis Obispo, with a score of 1,942 points. Team members Elise Bleck, Gracie Krah, Nathan Daniels and Grace Vos. South Dakota State University, Team 1, was third with 1939 points.

 

Bleck was the Overall High Individual with a score of 670 points over Purdue University’s Josie Burbrink who was the reserve with a score of 659 points. Bleck was also the winner in reasons over teammate Gracie Krahn with a score of 188 to Krahn’s 184.

 

“The Fort Worth Stock Show has long been a supporter of intercollegiate dairy judging contests as the dairy industry in Texas continues to grow, particularly in the Texas Panhandle,” said FWSSR Livestock Show Manager Stefan Marchman. “We’re delighted that schools from the Midwest to the West Coast make the trip to our show.”

 

Wisconsin placed first in Jersey, second in Brown Swiss and third in Holstein judging, as well as first in reasons to take the overall win.
