For those of you having trouble, try downloading FireFox, the site seems to perform better on that search engine than Explorer. If you continue to have problems, give Larry Kleiner or myself a call. We want you to have an enjoyable experience on our site . . . oh, and not miss one single comment! lol

I've had some of the same problems Christina mentions, most frequently trying to view the ads. The only time I can ever get the blown up version seems to be if it is on a sale page. From the ads page or the front page it just comes up blank. I also get error messages trying to transition between pages occasionally.

Sorry, but I have no problems with the site and my computer is 5 years old. The blog and advertisements are all here. Same story with all the various computers my family owns. Perhaps there's a media program you haven't downloaded? The computer geek guys don't always know everything...personal experience with them has taught me this.

Thanks for the response Dallas - My computer is brand new, I've tried it on my mom's computer and while at work (don't tell!), and here at school on the public computers, it always does the same thing. It happened on my old computer too. The computer geeks at school (college)say it's on your end, they told me to tell you to look up the error code and you'll see. Hopefully you'll get it fixed, I love reading your site!

Christina, thank you for your comment. There are a number of issues that would affect your ability to download the pages on the web site. How old is your computer? Have you updated the drivers in your computer? Are you on dialup or a faster connection? Granted there are issues surrounding the DAT web site; however, the problems you seem to be having appear to be localized. Please feel free to call Larry Kleiner (217-827-3468) or myself at 785-806-9774 to discuss your problems with the site.

Your coverage of World Dairy Expo was fantastic and really prompt. Congratulations to all the winners. I'd like to see DAT rebuild the whole website. You really need to RESTRICT those who bad mouth on these pages and while your at it fix the other pages that NEVER load! I never get to see your ads even if I click on them 5 or 6 times I always get an application '/' error or just a blank page. I tried all day to see Melissa's blog and still can't see it! Otherwise GREAT website!

I'm perfectly willing to sign my name to comments. As long as the comments are honest relections of our positions they should stand but anonymous slanders have no place. The judges pulled out a bunch of winners that looked like cut from the same mold which is what we ask of a judge more than anything, to be consistent. The Champion was the best of the lot in my opinion as well as his. What is amazing is the depth of quality so that a different take could have shuffled many classes three or four or more places with a slight more emphasis on strength or mobility or whatever else a different judge might have favored.

Well stated Mr. Faunce - I don't think I've ever seen a show where someone wasn't upset by the individual placings of a few animals, or the kind of animals the judges looked for all day. If you're happy with them when they head to the ring, thats about all you can do. Every hot streak ends, and luckily for a lot of people this year, there's another pretty important show in Toronto in about 5 weeks. I can't say that I didn't disagree with plenty of the placings in the younger and middle aged cow classes, but like Kelly Barbee said at the end of the Jersey show "It is what it is", and "One thing I said when I said I'd do this, is I'm gonna do it my way". Agree or disagree, Brian and Tyler did it their way, and its up to the exhibitors to see if they ever get a chance to do it again. Just remember, there's 3 guys on the nominating commitee (Brian, Adam, and ??), and 20+ judges in the contest. Don't let it bother you too much if you didn't like the way they lined up at Expo - there's always a couple top 6 that don't get nominated, and my guess is they fall in a little different at the RAWF. Congrats to the winners, better luck next year to the losers, and for all the "tweeners", I'll see you in Toronto!

I agree with Bob Vila! DAT needs to think abt this- it will also affect where my advertising $$ are spent since there goes a lot of the traffic

Watching paint dry will be more exciting than this comment section now. Great show at WDE this year though. Frosty looked amazing.

Great show!! Loved to have been there! As long as your just as proud of your animals coming home from the show as u were going there thats all that matters & by looking at the pics everyone should be very proud!! congrats to all the exhibitors!!

Well done DAT. This decision was overdue. Nobody who intends to post an honest and profound comment needs to hide behind a fake name. Frosty is a true champion. Congratulations to Armstrong, Duckett and Juneman as well as to the Hardestys.

After considerable discussion, Dairy Agenda Today has decided to allow comments if the correct and full name is included with the comment post.

In reply to the issue of public comment: I have been an exhibitor and Judge for many years and would simply say that judging can be a thankless job and showing is a business that has a multiple of risks---you can have a good day or a bad day, you can have a judge you agree with or disagree with, but at the end of the day it is one man’s opinion on one day. I feel if you do not respect the Judge’s opinion you should not take your cows to the show. I do feel that WDE has become too influential in determining which cows become All American since it is only one man’s opinion on one day. Maybe we should spend our energy devising a better system instead of criticizing the persons opinion we ask for when we attended the WDE last week. Respectfully, Gregg Hardy

I have watched the flood of comments and fought the urge to respond. Now I feel I have to. The fact of the matter is -- I am disappointed. Disappointed in what I've heard on the phone and read in the comments. Frankly, I am ashamed. Comments on Dairy Agenda Today were never intended to allow a coward to hide behind a fake name and literally destruct a truly magnificent cow and one of the finest gentlemen I have ever met. This is a sad commentary on our industry today. The World Dairy Expo used to be about the "cows" but it is not anymore. It's more about the price tag, who sold her, who owns her, who fitted her, who lead her or who can write the most hurtful, viscous lie in the comments. The team members of Dairy Agenda Today refuse to be a part of it. The posted comments are coming down today. We want to make one thing perfectly clear these comments are not being taken down to at anyone's request.
