Saturday evening, August 13th, Wisconsin State Fair Park, beautiful Holsteins, resplendent for the showring, the leadspeople, in formal dress.
All this set the stage for the 25th edition of the Wisconsin Holstein Association Futurity. The Judge for this year’s big event was Ron Heffner, and 21 entries paraded before him in hopes of capturing the top spot. Sorting herself to the top was Rob-Cri Strmtc Manitoba-ET, the entry of Rob-Cri Holsteins, and escorted by Jessi Wolosek of Plover, WI. In addition to being named the top entry, Manitoba was also selected as the Best Uddered, and was the top Bred & Owned entry. The award for the winning entry was sponsored by Badgerland Financial. Best Udder was sponsored by Semex, and Best Bred and Owned was sponsored by Lirr Farms.
Placing second was Ms Goldwyn Alana-ET, exhibited by Milksource Genetics. Alana was led by Jim Ostrom, who was selected as the Best Dressed Male Exhibitor. Sponsoring the award for second was International Protein Sires, while the best dressed award was sponsored by Boehringer Ingelheim.
Third place was bestowed on the entry of Second Look Holsteins and Nick Schuster, Gildale Advent Primrose. Primrose was shown by Nick Schuster, and was the top Junior entry. Agropur sponsored the award for third place, and Ma-Brown Holsteins and the Wisconsin Junior Holstein Association sponsored the winning Junior award.
