Judge Sarah Olson Schmidt of New Ulm, MN had the honor of placing the Milking Shorthorn show at the 2011 Minnesota State Fair August 30.  Exhibitors brought 62 head of the Milking Shorthorns to the ring for Judge Schmidt to evaluate.  At the end of the day, she was very pleased with her Grand Champion, Innisfail Ru Rady 6078-EXP, the winning 4 year old.  Rady was brought to the state fair by Katie Bue of Wide Open Holsteins.  Reserve honors were placed on the winning Aged Cow, R-Own Classic Renigade.  Renegade was exhibited by Mario & Darius Ost.
   In the younger cow classes, Rovin Julius Camille Chloe was named Intermediate Champion after winning the Senior 3 Year Old Class.  Chloe is owned by Brent Young.  Reserve Intermediate Champion went to the second place Senior 3 Year Old, Nix M.A. Jayla, exhibited by Nix Milking Shorthorns.
   Junior Champion honors went to the winning Fall Yearling, Rovin Lira Allison-EXP-ET exhibited by Rovin Acres & Bailey Larson.  Reserve Junior Champion was the winning Fall Calf, Gold Mine QD Butterscotch 1000 exhibited by Brent Young.
