Day 2 at Iowa Junior Holstein Convention

Festivities continued today at the Iowa Junior Holstein Convention in Dyersville, Iowa. Members discussed National Convention ideas, competed in dairy jeopardy and listened to guest speaker Karla Hageman the Iowa Dairy Princess Alternate. Fun awards were given to conclude the event as well as announcing the Dairy Quiz Bowl team members and individual Dairy Jeopardy contestants.

Day 1 at the Iowa Junior Holstein Convention

The Iowa Junior Holstein Convention is underway in Dyersville, Iowa! Fifty Holstein Junior members between the ages of 9-21 and their advisors have gathered for the two day annual event. Members began arriving this morning at 10:00. First on the agenda was to take the dairy bowl test to determine the teams for National Convention, followed by ice-breaker games and lunch. 

The State Junior Meeting was then held at 1:30. New officers were elected and cow awards were handed out. Other items of business included fundraising ideas, state awards, scholarships, Wisconsin award trip, National Convention in Indiana and the State Junior Show. The next meeting will be before the State Holstein Sale on March 16^th in West Union.

Tonight members will participate in “Minute to Win It” contests, an ice cream social, a dance, and movie night! Tomorrow Karla Hageman, the Iowa Dairy Princess Alternate will be the guest speaker, followed by Dairy Jeopardy contests and the much anticipated results of the quiz bowl test will be announced! Check back for more pictures and results!
