2013 National Ayrshire Convention - Thursday TOURS
The National Ayrshire convention continued in Wilmington, Ohio on Thursday while breeders visited Youngs Jersey Farm, Serpent Mound, and concluded the evening with the Fenton and Jodrey families at Emerald Farms.

Young's Jersey Dairy Farm is located in Yellowsprings, Ohio.  Home to 30 Jerseys that produce milk to make ice cream and cheese that are sold in the two restaurants on the farm.  The dairy also has bating cages, a driving range, play area for young children and other animals for people to see.

The final destination from Thursday's tours was Emerald Farms, home of the Fenton and Jodrey families from Winchester, Ohio.  Plenty of hospitality, great cows and smiling faces welcomed  the group.

Remembering a dear friend Cindy Climer whose Milking Shorthorns are housed at Emerald Farms.
 
 
Classification workshop held at the farm by Dave Wallace breaking down each trait.  July 1st the Brown Swiss Association will start scoring Ayrshire herds previously done by Select Sires.

Tom Fenton welcomed the group and thanked those who helped preparing for the tour.  He also noted that the 6th and youngest generation are very involved in the farm and recognized them for being so excited about the business.  The Ayrshire breed has brought the opportunity for many friends and great fellowship.
